Foundations

Our footings were poured at the end of February, since then a truckload of straw bales arrived and were carefully stacked in a container to keep them square and dry. Also, under-slab insulation and moisture barriers have gone down. We were going to help lay the hydronic pipes for the in-slab heating, but everyone has been scrambling to formulate new “COVID safe” policies which meant the plumbing company suddenly had a new rule saying their personnel have to stay at least 3m away from the customer. So we did not hep lay the pipes, but at least the pipes were in before the slab was poured.

The slab is curing nicely, and by some miracle, for the first time in many years, we have managed to lay concrete WITHOUT getting animal paw/hoof/foot prints set in it!
